Combat display
The combat view is very in your face, which is great for combat, but a lot of scrolling about and remembering vaguely what direction to head is required for ordering each individual ship in a fleet to crawl from the edge of a system to the planet in the centre of the map to attack. A zoom in/out function added to the combat screen so that a wider overview can be obtained for ordering ship movements in relation to targets would really help. But since the combat view consists of sprites I don't think it would be possible to add this function easily? So why not add a overview map option in which a whole star system could be represented and ships and planets represented by icons (perhaps make the small overview in the bottom left full screen). Then allow groups of ships to be selected (drag a box around) and ordered to move together in order to get them to within combat range and then switch back to the combat view when it's time to fight. I think this could greatly improve the combat parts of the game which currently suffers from a lot of dead time and may add strategic elements with fleets and flanking manoeuvres.

Re: Combat display
We want to make it possible so you can can set a destination point beyond your current moves limit either for a ship or a task force. And then the ship(s) would know where to move. All this during tactical mode when Auto Mode is Off.
Since this is turn-based and the player can choose to change his mind between rounds, you would have to press done manually for each ship and if it has a destination it will move on it's own.
Another option would be a button that would toggle between "autoMove/manualMove". If you have "autoMove" enabled, ships with destination points set would move automatically (you don't need to press done for each this way).
Any suggestions? As for the Zooming the camera, it's not impossible, we're considering the feasibility.

With this option it would be great if you could select multiple ships (i.e. hold down crtl) when setting the destination.Cumberlow wrote:Another option would be a button that would toggle between "autoMove/manualMove". Re: Combat display
It really needs some sort of zoomed out strategic camera. If you played SC,SOTS2,Sins or Rome2 and see the zoomed our camera with icons would he helpful. It is very awkward in its present form panning back and forth.
I also think if a fleets spotted heading to your system fleets should be on the map to engage the fleet head on in the map.Maybe a fleet intercept option would be nice.
