Re: Non-Steam release?
And I'm not too sure about GOG anymore either, they seem to be in the process of launching something similar. I'm not entirely sure, but from rumors I heard it sounds like they are moving in that direction. Just got an email with a key to an Alpha test of something they call GOG Galaxy. I sure hope...

Re: Non-Steam release?
I was just about to ask this and seen this topic. I like steam, but I would love to have a non steam version of horizon that does not require me to log into steam or mess with another game client. If I can get a game on gog.com or gamersgate.com then that is where I go but sometimes steam has games...

Re: My Suggestions
Master Of Orion had the star bases turn 1/4 rotation every turn.
I think that would be the best compromise.

Re: How do I win?
Depends on the game mode
If you play classic mode, you can win by getting elected leader through the galactic council.
In mission/story mode, you can win by finishing the story missions for any of the 3 major races.

Re: Refiting Fleets....
No, they will automatically rearm/reload between battles, only times you would need to return for a refit would be if you want to change to a different design or upgrade an existing one. The exception are troop transports which have to return to a planet with a barracks to pick up more troops. As re...

Re: New Player Questions
Thanks for all the replies... Here are some more questions! 8) What dose "engage sector" do? 9) What dose "Patrol" do? 10) What is "instanced" and "non-instanced" game mode mean? I prefer to auto resolve combat, which should I use? Engage sector means you go ...

Re: New Player Questions
3) Ship design. There are 3 sizes of weapons, Light(L), Regular(R), Heavy(H) The size determines the damage you do with that weapon The light weapons have a 360 degree arc, so they can always fire when in range of a target, but they cannot fire at planets and they do the least amount of damage of t...

Re: Horizon release version 1.0.2.126
Its refreshing and greatly appreciated and I really wish more developers had this kind of attitude and dedication.
It makes it fun to play the game and worthwhile to report problems and come with suggestions as we can see that we are being listened to.

Re: The good, the bad, and the terrible - feedback
Currently the trade routes (major, minor, local) are shown only for the player's capital system. While it looks nice, it does not really help in deciding will this new colony be a trading hub or not and it definitely does not help with tourism. I believe, the best way to show it transparently would...

Re: Planetary governor not accepting pollution cleanup
Thanks for the clarification.
Not a big issue, I'll just turn off the governor or the option on the governor setting for when I want to clean up then.

[*]Vorpal, inflicts extra damage, most damaging weapon in the game[/list] What's your reasoning behind "most damaging weapon"? I guess I should have provided the source for that. The reasoning is not mine, its from the devs. Vorpal are the ultra-powerful weapons which inflict extra damage...

Planetary governor not accepting pollution cleanup

In the governor Options I have set pollution control to on. If I et the pollution control on a planet to clean, the planetary governor changes it back to mai...

Re: Calculating research points
Are all numbers total for your entire empire or for a single planet? If the increase in number of scientists are on a single planet vs the total research points(RP) then that is the explanation. You have to look at total vs total or single vs single, single vs total does not work. If the increase in...

No there is no way to upgrade the fighters, at least I have not seen any.
I never thought of it actually, but it would be nice to be able to do so
