Strange AI behavior
I had neutral relations with the Varaians. I sent a Large-sized ship, and a colonizer to a new star for the first time. It turned out to be one of their systems. They introduced themselves with a wary greeting I assume: "Our interest in you is waning..." And then proceeded to give me the s...

Re: More Info On Research
Ah, yes, thank you. I'd noticed more information when i clicked on the discovery or breakthrough messages, but couldn't figure out how to get to it otherwise.

Idle Fleets
Some kind of warning that there are idle fleets would be very helpful, to avoid wasting turns, as well as perhaps a button to cycle through them.
Edit: Ah, the Ships screen can be used for this...
Now I wish I could have both the Ships and Colonies windows open at the same time.

Planets misaligned
In the planet menu to the far right of the screen, the planet graphics/names, are misaligned with the selection boxes on my screen, which has been resulting in some confusion when issuing things like orbit orders.
I can post a screenshot if that would help?

Build Cancellation
Hey, just wanted to comment... The fact that the same little X in the upper-right corner of each aspect of a colony's infrastructure is used both to cancel an upgrade, and to delete already constructed facilities is a little scary, even though it asks if I'm sure I want to delete my Farms for exampl...

Re: Hide End Of Turn Summary
I'll second this. Also, if you're going to make the end-of-turn reports full-screen, instead of just a window, maybe you could make it more visually appealing? Animate the expansion and collapse of the categories for example, and maybe add that little robot from the game's main menu or something?

More Info On Research
I'm just exploring the research screen for the first time... perhaps it's just the first tier of techs, but I'd like to see more explicit information about what each project actually does for me in the game. Min-maxers are going to do what they do (and I'm at peace with my own inner power-gamer, eve...

Firro's First Impressions
I'll update this as I play my first game, and just kind of... blather, I guess. Love the intro music, and the intro stargate sequence, very cool! The robot in the opening menu is adorably quirky and cute. Bad screen tearing during the intro video, but I think that's already been addressed with upcom...

The single most important thing...
If there is one single thing that I think the vast majority of game designers have forgotten, and which is in fact the single most critical thing for them to never, ever forget... It's that video games are, above ALL else, supposed to be FUN. I lie sort of in the middle ground among gamers. I don't ...

Re: AI, nothing more
Hmm... My feeling is that it's a lot less critical for AI to follow the rules, as it is for it to make sense from an immersion perspective. AI War did that part right. What matters is the player's experience. In a game that, at least from what I've seen and read so far, the player is playing a newco...
