Re: What is this AI?
Have you set the game mode to Classic? Normal mode has asymmetrical starts as some races are more advanced than others. That mode is usually meant to be played with the missions and the storyline. If you want a more traditional 4X start where everyone starts equal then select classic. The mouse over...

Storyline Question
I have question about the storyline, I know about the fact you can choose side in the conflict between the two elder races. I was curious if there was a Sheridan-esque option to tell both to 'p***-off'? I was always a huge fan of B5 and I always loved Sheridan's "Get the hell out of our galaxy!...

Re: December 20 2013 - Beta-2 Hotfix (version 4.60)
Re-Bump.
Won't it be easier to sticky the last changelog and then de-sticky it when it becomes not the last one? So that the last one will be the only stickied one and will always end up being on the top.

Re: December 19 2013 - Beta-2 version 4.59 - now Live
Regarding the economy changes, yes we wanted to be gradual about it. This also increases the value of trade and tourism buildings to generate revenue. More balancing will be coming after further testing and feedback. Oh I agree, I think it is always best to be gradual and go a step at a time in gam...

Re: December 19 2013 - Beta-2 version 4.59 - now Live
I was able to play it with no difficulties so far (Windows 7). Quick feedback: the new tax revenue seems to do a lot of good for the economy, I actually ran into the red for once, so I had to check my spending. However, it seems on e you got a lot of trade coming in and manage to get a few free trad...

Re: Diplomacy.
About that point where it resets to the middle us because you enter the next range (hostile or friendly), which has it own range on the bar. Basically a category of disposition has the whole bar as a progression. But the system puts you in the middle of the the next range instead of the linear point...

Re: November 27 2013 - Beta v4.57 - Test branch
The idea was just elaborated upon, explaining the mechanics, balance concerns, and variations; and the why of it all. Sort of what is under the hood as it were. From the gameplay and players perspective the system will obviously be more refined and straight forward, even simple. Basically, you add L...

Re: November 27 2013 - Beta v4.57 - Test branch
I was thinking about this, the whole thing with Starbases and supply bays and all, and I think I came up with an idea (thanks to Lithari's suggestion actually). :) Perhaps having two separate modules, the ones that ships can use (supply bays or cargo holds) that act like they do today. These can not...

Re: Capturing Tech???
Scrapping ships do give you a chance of learning a new tech that was inside it. However, this is just a chance, sometimes reverse engineers don't get it right.
I do not know what the odds are and what can modify them, but I know the system is under consideration for possible improvements.

Re: November 27 2013 - Beta v4.57 - Test branch
Actually that would make a great idea as a new trait! At the moment the assimilation just means politically and culturally, biologically they are still the same. This makes sense for none "assimilating" (a la Borg style) races. Parasitic races are more like the G'auld from SG. In such case...
Re: Stargates
The travel is not instaneous (or either 1-turn only), I forgot how it takes but it pretty much makes all travel be equal to that time no matter the distance. If conventional "flight" was faster, your ships would use that. If you still not using the gate network and get travel times that ar...

Re: Feedback, comment and suggestion
2.) The Varaians, Har'kan, and Kortahz races are suppose to be ancient and the Kortahz supposedly created the other younger races shouldn't they have more advance technology (maybe unique only to them), and more powerful ships. 3.) creating a spy network (spies for offensive and defense missions); ...

Re: Feedback (long post)
For sure, a tach pace slider might something to consider. We get to choose many variables that will effect the tech pace, a larger galaxy with less opponents will result in faster tech (both sides can expand by a lot and develop a lot of worlds with far more dedicated to science, so science output w...

I take a nap... and bam! Awesome Feedback thread! :D Glad to have you onboard and most certainly a worthwhile read. As I see you noticed the Terraforming thread and are participating in it, double awesome. I do agree with some of the things you said in Tech. A little more control to the player would...

Re: Occupation and Terraforming
Glad you found this thread, I was reading your Feedback and was like, "hope he found this thread already." Yeah, I guess the approach is the process should be costly. Even if we choose to avoid having maintenance costs, I still think the idea CellNav had of the cost being spread across the...

Re: Maintenance Costs
I see in game money to be either actual money, some sort of commodity, or resource allocation or whatever represents the distribution of resources in a wealthless society. For the sake of the players, it is easier to use the same credits in-game to represent this. So even a moneyless society like ST...

Re: Maintenance Costs
Why should an old design cost more maintainance? Because you don't have any spare parts left and have to buy it on the black market? :? It is pretty much how it is in real life. Older devices especially on massive scales become harder to maintain because things seem to break more often. It is not a...
