Not sure if this should be discussed in the gameplay section instead,
but it's getting really frustrating to have the AI demand I stop firing at them
when it is shooting at my unarmed scout ship at another species homeworld..
(Or, even worse, when my ship is orbiting my own planet in a shared system)
I don't know if the Har'kan were allied with the Varaians in my current game,
(is a report function planned to be able to tell if they are or not, if they can?)
but the Varaians didn't shoot at either of us (despite the aggression in their system)
and then afterwards I get threatened to stop firing at Har'kan. Extremely annoying..
If this is intentional, please atleast change the dialogue
when it whines at the player for being a target of their hostility.
(I think the one when they declare war is fine.. I'll find out in the next ten turns
after they shoot at my unarmed ships again and declare that I broke their ultimatum)

We're looking into this thanks for bringing it up!

Re: Diplomacy - Stop Attacks on ships [they]
I'm wondering if the mere fact the sector "engages" triggers a diplomatic response without looking at the facts. I mentioned a suggestion on one of my earlier bug reports regarding more dialog to allow us to tell the other race he's full of ... Don't let me wake up and catch you sleeping !!!
Re: Diplomacy - Stop Attacks on ships [they]
We have fixed this issue in 3.40 which will go live on Thursday. It was a bug when the AI picked the threat dialogue, the turn history wasn't recording properly on who fired first, affecting both firing on ships and on colonies.
