An excellent and insightful reply. It just feels weird that you can't afford to conquer a star system that early in the game.
Probably realistic. I'll give the nod to L3O on this one.

Re: Planets misaligned
No kidding! If you find that in your first explored star system, don't you just say "aw, sweet, I win!" and restart?Lithari wrote:Then you are one lucky S.O.B.CrispyMouse wrote:No modding. I haven't even looked at the game's directory yet.

Well, if this situation is working as intended, then your approach appears to be the only feasible one.Lithari wrote:Yeh, I noticed that after I posted, but I personally don't do anything warlike until my economy sorted, to the point of handling 1-2 problems, if they occur.

Here's the offending planet in question: http://pinback.moltobenny.com/food-is-expensive.jpg It is the food situation. 7 billion population, and I have to buy food for all of them. Note that food works out to be about 10bc per MU, which seems prohibitively expensive, at least for this early in a ga...

Re: What happened? (re: bankruptcy)...
I'll try to resurrect the saved game, but it was very early in the proceedings, and I doubt there were any magical buildings that could have possibly cost as much as everything else in my empire times ten. If you think a bug may be afoot, let me know and I'll send you the save game. I cancelled/dest...

What happened? (re: bankruptcy)...
My money was in excellent shape. Because I'm a terrible person, I decided to invade a neighboring star system. Once I conquered it, the newly conquered planet showed a deficit of like 34bc PER TURN. Needless to say, within five turns, I lost due to bankruptcy. Why was the colony losing so much?? Wha...

Re: Can someone explain Supply?
It just seems a departure from every other space 4x I can recall. Isn't the first thing you do in any of these games to build a few scouts and fire 'em at nearby stars? I know you can do the same thing in Horizon, but not without it telling you your scouts are out of supply every other turn. Dunno. ...

Re: Can someone explain Supply?
Once you are out of supply range, re-supply time takes longer than supplies needed for your fleet to function efficiently. If you are 1 turn away in distance, for 1 turn you are lacking in supplies. If you are 5 turns away then when your supplies run out you have to wait 5 turns for new supplies. B...

Re: Can someone explain Supply?
you arent supposed to go further than your supply will allow. supply = fuel iirc however i you can go further out of your supply range. its just slower I understand this part. However, it looks like scouts always have zero supply, so the game flip-flops between telling you they're in supply or out,...

Can someone explain Supply?
I build a couple of scout ships. After one turn or so, I get the notice that they're out of supply. Hovering over them shows "Supply: 0/0 turns". The next turn, I get a notice that they've been resupplied. They still show "Supply: 0/0 turns". The next turn, I get the out-of-suppl...
