1. What if there were LOLcat Kitten Pirates in this game? What if they could attack your system, not with weapons, but with questions? Answer correctly and you get a bonus. Fail, and they make a planet useless for a time because every inhabitant is too busy playing with the kitten pirates and feeding them cheeseburgers to work? A graphic screen for this depicting the issue would be lolworthy ingame.
2. Can we make a piece of ground technology that increases some sort of maintaining stat and call them Sonic Screwdrivers?
3. Can I has monolith? Can it create native populations on a planet if I drop it there and evolve them?
4. Would a planetary debuff called 'Space Hobos' showing a group of aliens with towels be something you'd dare put in this game?
5. Wouldn't it be funny if 'ancient civ' or 'ruins' could turn up more information such as "Sir, apparently there was a Browncoat rebellion here long ago." or "We've located a giant computer. It appears confused, but the printout says '42'."?
Just random thoughts for a cheap laugh.

After having those five random thoughts, your face must be in terrible shape because of those five shovels coming out of the ground whacking it, eh?
Don't let me wake up and catch you sleeping !!!

Proud to announce...there IS a cat in the game.
Well played with the Sonic Screwdriver. Create a fake telecommunication device and called it the Tartarus :p

Personally, I think these gags are cheap.
Game first, pop-culture references later.
