How do I abandon planets?

Right now you can surrender systems to another race but there is no way to abandon it.

We will be adding the option to destroy the government building completely (which you can't right now) that will abandon the colony.

Thanks much. It became an issue when I colonized too fast and the outposts were a constant drain on my funds, not allowing me to upgrade them or get rid of them.

Are you sure that you can't do it now? Yesterday I pressed X near the colony building and it warned me that I'm going to destroy the colony. Haven't check it...

You can for colonies but not for outposts (listening post). Not yet
